About The Position

Performing a wide range of general laboratory support operations in the Molecular and Cell Biology Services group; coordinating the receipt and inventory log entry of reagents and supplies; maintaining inventory logs for necessary reagents and supplies; performing daily equipment status monitoring; assisting in the routine maintenance of general laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reasoning skills, including logical thinking and deductive reasoning.
• Good work habits (i.e., cleanliness, efficiency, cautiousness).
• Accuracy in transcribing information.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn new tasks and willingness to follow instructions and comply with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt and entry of reagents and supplies into the department inventory log.
• Maintain inventory logs for necessary reagents and supplies and communicate those logs to the appropriate individuals.
• Assist appropriate personnel in the location of and eventual removal of reagents and supplies from the active laboratory population when expired or exhausted.
• Assist in the routine maintenance of general laboratory equipment including biological safety cabinets, incubators, refrigerators, waterbaths, centrifuges, and platewashers.
• Assist in the proper disposal of laboratory generated waste.
• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
