Who we are Exabeam's Search Platform team has built a highly optimized system of storing and querying petabytes of logs so that the customer can monitor their system for security threats. We are a central component to the broader suite of Exabeam applications, so we often work with other teams to meet their needs. Who we are looking for Exabeam's Search Platform team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build new functionality while still meeting cost and performance and stability requirements within our cloud-native environment running on Kubernetes. This role will primarily work on the backend microservices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience doing the following:
  • Development with Java or similar programming language
  • Development with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Comfortable with:
  • Query languages like SQL
  • Various database technologies like: Redis, Clickhouse, BigQuery, Spanner, etc.
  • Data streaming technologies like Google PubSub or similar
  • Using Mac Terminal or similar command line interface
  • Implementing metrics for stability monitoring, alerting, and cost monitoring
  • Collaborating effectively with team members across various time zones in our global distributed team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building a query language
  • Experience working with big data processing and storage technologies
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies like LLMs and Deep Learning
  • Sympathetic understanding of the customer perspective and the end-user experience

Responsibilities

  • Producing code and unit tests
  • Reviewing code and solutions proposed by other team members
  • Designing and documenting solutions
  • Optimizing for performance and cost within a big data processing pipeline and cloud infrastructure
  • Estimating the time or effort needed to build functionality
  • Help investigate and resolve problems reported by our test and support teams
  • Thinking outside the box to solve problems or come up with innovative new features
