Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? We have an exciting new remote opportunity with our Digital Technology (DT) Digital Manufacturing Applications team for a Senior JAVA Developer - MES. Pratt & Whitney, a Raytheon Technologies Company, is looking for a JAVA developer to join our Digital Technology (DT) Digital Manufacturing Applications team. This individual will be involved in the delivery of developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within Pratt & Whitney’s enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions, as well as integrations with other enterprise products for our internal Operations customers. This role will support the development of back-end and web-based solutions, troubleshooting of problems related to PW’s MES, resolving systems integration and compatibility issues, and supporting the application life cycle Center of Excellence. The position is based remotely and due to customer locations in different time zones, customer meetings can occur outside normal business work hours. Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 10+ years of prior relevant work experience; OR an Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related degree with 7+ years of prior relevant work experience.
  • Java development with Spring Boot, Maven, and Hibernate.
  • React.js (Redux), Node.js, ES6 JavaScript.
  • REST API development and integration.
  • RDBMS experience (Oracle or SQL Server).
  • Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with VS Code, Eclipse, or similar IDEs.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), and RESTful web services.
  • Skill for writing reusable Java libraries, knowhow of Java concurrency patterns.
  • Sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming Patterns and Concepts.

  • Experience with Azure services and Gov Cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Solumina i‑Series.
  • Exposure to IIoT and Industry 4.0 ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications used across Pratt & Whitney operations.
  • Develop Java-based microservices and React front-end features supporting engine manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, refine, and scale MES capabilities.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment delivering modern solutions aligned to Industry 4.0 and IIoT initiatives.
