About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager with experience in traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems and traffic operations and design to join our Nashville, TN team. Location in Middle Tennessee area required. Candidates will have the ability to work remotely or in office but will be required to attend internal and external client meetings in person as needed. This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. Requirements

  • 8 or more years of transportation or traffic engineering experience post-graduation.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from accredited university.
  • U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Tennessee PE.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PTOE.
  • TDOT or local TN project experience.
  • Experience using Microstation, ArcGIS and Synchro/Sim Traffic.
  • Understanding and familiarity with MUTCD and DOT Design Guidelines and Standards (Nashville DOT and Tennessee DOT).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Transportation Design Experience with MicroStation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist our growing traffic engineering group in Tennessee in the preparation of engineering reports, studies and analyses in a wide-range of areas including traffic operations, safety, travel demand modeling and transportation planning projects.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to complete tasks within the required project schedule and budget.
  • Lead tasks and projects on your own and mentor younger staff.
  • Conduct traffic operational analysis using microscopic simulation software such as VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic.
  • Analyze traffic signal operation on arterials and networks, specify applicable data collection, develop new signal timing parameters based on detailed analysis, input traffic signal plans via central control systems and/or directly into local controllers, and design and analyze traffic surveys to evaluate signal timing effectiveness.
  • Prepare traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and markings designs, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
  • Conduct operational analysis using microscopic simulation for intersections, corridors, and interchange traffic.
  • Assist in the developing ICM and ATM operations and maintenance policies, procedures and manuals.
  • Assist in the Implementation of ICM and ATM operations and maintenance policies.
