About The Position

Global Science & Technology (GST) is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to join our team supporting State IT Support Projects in the Southern Region of West Virginia. Position Summary: The Senior IT Support Professional will be responsible for responding to support requirements for customers in the Southern region of West Virginia. The position will require limited travel to all WV Counties located below Fayette, Kanawha, and Putnam Counties. The position requires strong communication and relationship management skills. The Senior IT Support Professional will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of Routers, Firewalls, Managed Network Switches, wireless equipment, PC's, Printers, Scanners, and other miscellaneous hardware. Most of the duties can be handled remotely however travel to customer sites is necessary. Candidate will support the GST client base that has been in place for over 25 years. Primary Duties: Assist Senior Network Engineers and Support Staff with the planning and implementation of IT solutions in the Southern Region of West Virginia. Assisting with Structured and Wireless Cabling installations is necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in IT or Information Systems or equivalent military or industry experience with at least 5 years' experience is required.
  • Candidates must have A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco certifications, and Windows experience.
  • Experience in configuring routers, firewalls, and managed switches is also required.
  • Must possess solid customer service skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills including ability to speak and work proactively with customers and other employees

  • Must be willing to submit to and pass applicable background checks
  • Must be able to drive and must possess and supply a current driver's license valid in the United States.
