About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager (PM) to manage the implementation of IT solutions in alignment with the NIST 800-53 security and compliance framework in support of the FAA BNATCS contract. This role is critical in ensuring that our IT systems/changes are delivered on time while meeting stringent federal and industry regulatory requirements. The IT PM will collaborate with all stakeholders including end users, cybersecurity, compliance, and operations teams to deliver business and mission-critical IT solutions. Key Responsibilities Core Project Management Responsibilities Develop and maintain project management documents (budget, requirements, schedules, roles & responsibilities, stakeholder alignment, etc). Ensure technical solutions comply with NIST 800-53 security controls and documented requirements. Manage adherence to budget and schedule, scope and cybersecurity requirements. Track risks and dependencies; escalate issues. Establish project management governance process including approval gates and stakeholder sign off. Conduct regular project meetings, document minutes, decisions, outcomes. Provides regular status to project stakeholders. Security & Compliance Ensure NIST 800-53 control requirements are integrated into technical solutions. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure solutions meet security requirements. Participate in the coordination of audits, assessments, and accreditation processes (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP). Risk Management Identify, document, track and mitigate risks in all aspects of the project. Conduct project impact analyses for material changes. Escalate risks and issues as appropriate. Collaboration & Leadership Partner with all project stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs. Provide feedback mechanism for schedule, quality and budget decisions; ensure all stakeholders have a deep understanding of project objectives, required outcomes and constraints. Manage IT projects from concept through design and implementation. Continuous Improvement Stay current with emerging technologies, federal security standards, and best practices. Recommend enhancements to improve performance, security, and compliance posture. Drive automation and modernization initiatives to streamline infrastructure management. This position is contingent upon successful award of the associated contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of experience, Master's degree and 6+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 3+ years of applicable experience managing IT infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP)
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools and practices including Jira, Git, MS Project, Power Platform
  • Familiarity with EVMS
  • PMP certification is required
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust as required by the contract
  • This is a remote capable position, however, candidates must reside within the local DC/MD/NoVA area
