About The Position

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead enterprise-level IT and cybersecurity initiatives supporting the U.S. Coast Guard. This position will be located in Alexandria, VA, and will be a hybrid position. Responsibilities As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will serve as the primary driver for planning and delivering mission-critical IT projects that enhance Coast Guard operations. You will ensure projects are executed on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining compliance with federal standards and promoting collaboration among stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects supporting Coast Guard enterprise systems and cybersecurity programs. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations in accordance with USCG governance processes. Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Identify and mitigate risks, manage issues, and implement change control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, dashboards, and performance metrics to Coast Guard leadership. Promote process improvement and implement best practices in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid). The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with 12 years (or commensurate experience).
  • Current Clearance Required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
  • PMP certification required; Agile certifications (CSM) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project management frameworks and governance processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for executive briefings and team leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and ServiceNow.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or DHS programs highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cloud integration, cybersecurity initiatives, and IT governance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
