About The Position

Our client is an IT and Voltage Services provider with expertise in deep niche education, real estate, and construction markets. They lead with integrity and transparency, while offering innovative solutions and an excellent customer-focused experience. Position Overview Our client is expanding their Projects & Solutions Team and they are seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager who can lead client projects from concept to completion, collaborate closely with engineers, and provide day-to-day leadership for technical resources. This role requires strong technical understanding, excellent communication, and the ability to guide engineers through complex solution design and implementation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience managing IT projects or leading technical implementation work.
  • Prior team management and guidance of engineers or technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of IT fundamentals (Microsoft 365, Azure, networking basics, endpoints, security stack).
  • Ability to interpret engineering designs and communicate them effectively.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, timelines, expectations, and multiple deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • MSP experience preferred.
  • Experience contributing to technical SOWs or proposals preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 migrations, Azure projects, or common SMB IT infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience with ConnectWise Manage or similar PSA platforms preferred.
  • PMP, CSM, or similar certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the technical team, including managing workload, assigning tasks, balancing priorities, and ensuring consistent execution across all projects.
  • Provide strong leadership: set expectations, coach team members, support professional development, conduct performance discussions, and maintain accountability.
  • Oversee team communication, ensure alignment, remove roadblocks, and maintain a productive, positive working environment.
  • Plan department capacity, forecast resource needs, and coordinate staffing for upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review, refine, and validate technical solution designs.
  • Translate designs into clear implementation plans, timelines, task breakdowns, and deliverables.
  • Lead full project lifecycles from kickoff through delivery, while managing multiple active projects at the same time, ensuring all phases stay on scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Oversee IT migrations and infrastructure projects to ensure accurate, smooth implementation.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, vendors, and internal leaders to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely updates.
  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, issues, and changes, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure documentation, SOWs, diagrams, and project records are created and maintained.
  • Manage department metrics, performance indicators, timelines, and workload distribution to drive continual improvement and consistent delivery.
