About The Position

The Senior Program Manager, IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) will lead a growing team of IT I&O Project Managers and drive execution of strategic initiatives across the IT I&O portfolio. This role will partner closely with IT I&O Leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps and programs, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable business outcomes. The Senior Program Manager will also align and collaborate with the Enterprise Systems Program Management team to ensure consistent practices, shared standards, and coordinated execution across the broader IT landscape. This position blends hands-on program and project management with strategic planning, people leadership, and the establishment of strong PMO practices within IT Infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can manage complex, multi-workstream programs, coach and grow project managers, and build an operational rhythm that drives visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years managing IT projects/programs, including complex multi-workstream initiatives.
  • 3+ years people leadership experience managing project managers or similar roles.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure initiatives (networks, cloud, data center, end-user, security, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall; PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or similar preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to manage integrated plans, budgets, and resources across concurrent efforts.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills with senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through across distributed teams.
  • Willing to be hands-on and “roll up sleeves” to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and service-minded.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing complex IT infrastructure programs.
  • Translate IT I&O strategic objectives into program charters, roadmaps, and success metrics.
  • Prioritize and manage a portfolio of initiatives, balancing capacity, risk, and dependencies.
  • Define program scope, goals, and deliverables that support business and enterprise IT standards.
  • Identify and manage inter-project dependencies, critical paths, and resource constraints.
  • Maintain integrated program and project plans, including milestones and release schedules.
  • Lead and develop IT Infrastructure Project Managers through coaching and performance management.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations aligned to I&O priorities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in talent planning and support team growth as project demand increases.
  • Establish and refine PMO standards, templates, and processes for IT Infrastructure, aligned with Enterprise Systems PMO.
  • Implement consistent practices for project intake, prioritization, and approval with IT I&O Leadership.
  • Drive disciplined status reporting, dashboards, and communication routines for leadership.
  • Promote appropriate use of Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall; encourage continuous improvement.
  • Support financial governance, including forecasting and tracking of program and project budgets.
  • Directly manage high-priority or complex infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Gather and document requirements with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with IT architecture and security.
  • Coordinate internal resources, vendors, and third-party partners with clear expectations.
  • Lead risk, issue, and change management processes across projects.
  • Ensure smooth transition of solutions to operations, including support models and documentation.
