About The Position
The position involves coordinating IT operations within the database server environment, which includes a variety of critical tasks such as patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and planning for downtime. This role serves as a bridge between end-users and IT administrators, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will manage major versions of supported database technologies and assist with cloud operational and security support projects. A significant aspect of the role is to automate platform operations by employing modern software development and systems management methodologies, which will enhance the overall efficiency of the IT operations. In addition to operational tasks, the position requires collaboration with various teams to develop and maintain robust problem-handling processes for operational support. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure is utilized effectively and efficiently, while also bringing innovative ideas to improve uptime, operations, performance, and support. The role emphasizes driving productivity improvements within the server environment, all while maintaining business continuity and performance standards. The candidate will oversee a technical team of administrators who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the databases. Compliance with standards, policies, and regulations such as architecture, security, SOX, FDA, PII, and Privileged Access Management is crucial. The individual will provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures, acting as an advocate for innovation and improvements within the organization. Furthermore, the role includes developing reports for senior management and key stakeholders, leading and coordinating the development of periodic upgrades to the server systems, which may involve migration to the public cloud. The candidate will also provide guidance for ongoing corrective and preventative maintenance to enhance the reliability and availability of the databases. Researching and exploring new database technologies and options, both on-premises and in the cloud, is also a key responsibility. The position requires providing technical leadership for third-party operations and development resources. Telecommuting is permitted, offering flexibility in the work environment.
