About The Position

Our iOS engineers work to maintain and add new features to our native iOS Study app. This role will substantially contribute to our iOS production codebase and test suite, and will work in tandem with our Android engineers to produce a consistent experience across platforms. This can involve code review, participating in and leading technical kickoffs, and developing best practices. The role will also collaborate with our design team to implement a consistent and responsive UI that gels with both our product and the native OS look and feel. The right candidate will be focused not just on writing code, but being a great engineer, problem-solver, and teammate.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of native iOS development experience in Swift
  • Strong knowledge of the iOS platform framework and Swift
  • Proficiency building UI in Interface Builder
  • Experience deploying apps to the App Store
  • XCTest framework proficiency
  • An engineer’s mindset - writing code that will stand the test of time and address the problems at hand, rather than focusing on quick fixes
  • A desire to collaborate with the team, knowledge share, and pair program to find optimal solutions and solve complex tasks
  • Strong opinions, weakly held - use your expertise to provide input and feedback, while also keeping an open mind to possibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Reactive architectural patterns/RxSwift proficiency
  • Experience building UI with SwiftUI
  • Familiar with iOS accessibility best practices
  • Familiar with Android platform and Kotlin language, and able to understand and provide feedback on Android code

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain our iOS Study application and test suites
  • Work closely with Android engineers to align our mobile experiences and architectural patterns across platforms
  • Collaborate with the design team to implement UX changes and inform them of platform-specific behavior
  • Ideate with PMs to flesh out technical requirements, risks, and complexity
  • Work with the larger engineering team to develop and iterate on our values, best practices, and code style guidelines
