We are building a Compliance Engineering team as part of Reddit's technical journey. The SPACE (Security Privacy and corporate Engineering org) is building a Compliance Eng team at Reddit, that is responsible for preparing our platforms for constantly evolving regulatory requirements. We are also building foundational products that are impactful for Reddit’s future. We work closely with teams across the company to ensure every platform we support and feature we ship meets the highest standards and quality bar. The projects we undertake span multiple domains and technology stacks and successful engineers in this role will be adaptable and thrive in ambiguous problem spaces. This is a high impact role where you will be involved in technical & product strategy and have a chance to get in on the ground floor of a new product space.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical expertise
5+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience developing user-facing iOS mobile native applications at scale, using Swift
You have experience working with various iOS libraries such as UIKit, Combine, Swift Concurrency, and Apollo GraphQL
You have experience working with API design and interfacing with backend services, as well as 3rd party services via SDK and webviews.
You are a strategic thinker who thrives on developing a long-term technical foundation and has a passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally.
A track record of leading large projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborations
Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.
Experience working with cross-functional teams such as design, product, data teams to deliver great user experiences.

Responsibilities

Adapt our platforms to the ever changing privacy, security and regulatory landscape
Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineers across Reddit to ensure compliance of our platforms
Help build a new team within Reddit and drive its roadmap, processes and execution
Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. Coordinate high impact, highly cross functional business critical projects and features.
Participate with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers. Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and help mentor junior engineers on the team to grow their technical expertise.
