About The Position

DBi is hiring a Senior Investment Infrastructure Engineer to own and scale the firm’s data and internal platform infrastructure. This role works directly with the PM and supports research, portfolio management, and production workflows. This role supports live investment workflows and requires prior exposure to financial or market data systems, candidates without experience in capital markets or time-series data environments will not be a fit. Prior experience working with financial markets, market data, or investment systems is required

Requirements

• ~5+ years experience in data engineering, investment systems, or financial platforms
• Strong Python used in production systems
• Advanced SQL and experience designing complex analytical schemas
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Experience designing and operating APIs
• Demonstrated experience working with financial or time-series data
• Evidence of architectural thinking, not just ticket execution

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience at a hedge fund, asset manager, quant firm, or serious fintech
• Ownership of production data systems used by investment teams
• Experience challenging and improving existing architectures
• Comfort operating with high autonomy and minimal process

Responsibilities

• Investment Data Architecture
• End-to-end ownership of market, hedge fund, and proprietary datasets
• Design and evolution of schemas in Snowflake optimized for:
• time-series analytics
• reproducibility
• research vs production consistency
• Critical evaluation of existing pipelines and proposal of improvements
• Data Pipelines & Reliability
• Build, maintain, and refactor ingestion pipelines
• Use Fivetran where it makes sense; replace it where it does not
• Design reconciliation, validation, and monitoring for financial data
• Own data correctness as a first-class responsibility
• APIs & Platform Systems
• Design and maintain internal REST APIs for data access
• Ensure APIs are performant, secure, and well-structured
• Think holistically about the data access layer, not just endpoints
• Internal Tools & Research Infrastructure
• Maintain and improve internal dashboards and tools (e.g. Streamlit)
• Improve usability without compromising data integrity
• Identify opportunities to automate or simplify research workflows
• Systems Thinking & Improvement
• Proactively identify weaknesses, bottlenecks, and technical debt
• Propose architectural changes where justified
• Bring ideas from prior experience in finance or data-heavy environments
