About The Position

One of Vaco's middle market PE backed clients is building out a presence in Dallas and is looking to onboard a Senior Accountant as part of that growth. Accountants will be responsible for the day to day inventory accounting and bring process improvements/efficiencies to the table - they are looking to scale in the next couple of years.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in accounting or related fields, with familiarity in general ledger functions, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) is a plus.
• Public accounting and CPA is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post inventory journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all entries.
• Perform regular reconciliations for inventory accounts.
• Participate in the month-end closing process, including preparing accruals, prepaid expenses, and other adjusting journal entries.
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts and monitor budget variances, providing insights to department leaders.
• Support external audit requirements by preparing requested documentation and maintaining accurate records. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Collaborate with the accounting team on ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as needed.
