The Senior Internal Security Investigator will be responsible for conducting non-field investigations of suspected fraud or illegal activities against the company. This role involves interviewing, database inquiries, taking statements, and locating sources of information and witnesses. The investigator will evaluate information credibility, refer cases to outside agencies, and provide training and support to various departments in the claims handling process. The position requires a mix of in-office and remote work, with two days in the office and three days working from home.

  • Conduct non-field investigations of suspected fraud or illegal activities against the company.
  • Interview witnesses and gather evidence related to investigations.
  • Evaluate information to determine its credibility.
  • Refer investigative assignments to outside agencies as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to all departments in the claims handling process.
  • Document files in a clear and concise manner for various stakeholders.
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • 3+ years of claims adjusting experience or P&C SIU/Fraud Investigation experience.
  • 4 years of prior investigative law enforcement experience or relevant fraud industry investigation experience.
  • Experience handling phone statements from various parties in a professional manner.
  • Ability to gather a broad range of evidence and draw conclusions based on collected information.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize heavy claim volume workloads.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to learn and apply a large amount of technical and procedural information.
  • Knowledge of city, state, and local regulations, legal concepts, case law, medical treatments, and medical terminology.
  • 4-year degree or higher.
  • Current or prior SIU investigations experience working in diverse teams.
  • Experience handling commercial, marine, auto, property, and underwriting investigations.
  • Ability to handle complex fraud cases and/or rings.
  • Knowledge of public record systems and claims/policy databases.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage an active case load.
  • Related professional designations (e.g., CIFI, CFE, FCLA, CPCU).
