About The Position

The Senior Internal Controls Auditor supports the Internal Controls Manager in designing, implementing, and sustaining a robust internal control environment that promotes regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, and effective risk management. This role plays a key part in executing the organization’s Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program, performing risk‑based assessments, and driving continuous improvement across processes and systems. The Senior Auditor will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, enhance operational efficiency, and uphold the integrity of financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CFE) preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in internal audit, external audit, internal controls, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting processes, risk management, US GAAP, PCAOB standards, and control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT).
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes, risk assessment, and internal control design and evaluation.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess complex processes and identify meaningful opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to balance theoretical best practices with practical, business‑oriented recommendations.
  • Experience working effectively in international and multicultural environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
  • Proficiency with audit tools and software, including Microsoft Office; experience with Wdesk and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ACL, IDEA) preferred.
  • Interest in leveraging automation, workflow tools, or continuous monitoring solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the annual ICFR review plan, aligned with risk assessment results and regulatory expectations.
  • Perform end‑to‑end ICFR reviews—including planning, scoping, fieldwork, testing, and reporting—using established audit methodologies and professional standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and strategic evolution of the organization’s ICFR program.
  • Independently evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls across varied business units, processes, and systems.
  • Conduct control readiness assessments and support control implementation activities for new acquisitions.
  • Identify control deficiencies, develop practical and actionable remediation recommendations, and communicate results clearly to management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor remediation progress and track action plans to ensure timely and sustainable closure.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations and external audits by preparing documentation, providing evidence, and supporting inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal control team members and other functions to support broader departmental initiatives.
  • Stay informed on emerging risks, regulatory developments, industry trends, and new technologies to continuously refine audit approaches and methodologies.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
