About The Position

Shape the future of interior design at AvalonBay. We’re looking for a talented Senior Interior Designer to lead in-house design for our new development and renovation projects. From concept through construction, you’ll ensure every space reflects our commitment to quality, innovation, and functionality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design
• 8–12 years in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
• All phases of interior design, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and MS Office
• NCIDQ required
• Commercial codes and ADA regulations
• Occasional U.S. travel

• LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for in-house projects, including new developments and renovations (Capital Projects and CapEx)
• Drive all phases of design: schematic design, design development, construction documentation, furniture specification, and construction administration
• Manage design processes to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare and review construction documentation; oversee construction administration and design execution
• Select commercial grade furniture and manage procurement process
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver exceptional results
