About The Position

The Senior Interior Designer will play a crucial role in a multidisciplinary design firm in Chicago, focusing on conceptual design through to construction documentation phases. This position involves close collaboration with the firm's Principals and Owner to deliver innovative design ideas while managing client expectations and overseeing project budgets. The designer will lead a small team, execute design projects, and ensure the development of junior designers, all while utilizing various design software for presentations and project reviews.

Requirements

• Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
• 8+ years of professional experience in a design firm, focusing on custom hospitality projects.
• At least 5 years of experience working on food/beverage/restaurant projects.
• Experience managing a small team (2-3 people).
• Experience working directly with clients and leading client presentations.
• Experience working in InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Participate in conceptual design up until construction documentation phases.
• Work closely with the Principals and Owner to deliver design ideas.
• Execute design projects and manage client expectations.
• Oversee project budgets and review work from internal team members.
• Lead design presentations and manage a team of 2-3 designers per project.
• Responsible for space planning and FF&E selections.
• Train and encourage the development of other designers.
• Utilize Adobe Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop for client presentations.
• Utilize SketchUp and Enscape for reviewing 3D models.
