About The Position

Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas. We are looking for highly-motivated individuals who enjoy working as part of a team in a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment. The Senior Integrity Specialist helps develop, implement, administer, and continuously improve multiple tools, processes, and programs related to pipeline, tank, and facility integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance. Primary duties of this role will be to ensures the reliability and safety of assets by implementing and monitoring operational controls through key performance indicators (KPIs) and integrity data. It is responsible for identifying areas of improvement to maintain the life of the asset and reducing releases. The Operational Integrity group works collaboratively across multiple organizations and assets located throughout North America. This group also serves as the primary interface between local operations and the Asset Integrity Department.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience in the following areas is strongly preferred:
  • Interpretation of DOT/PHMSA regulations and standards.
  • Interpretation of Inspection/testing, maintenance of pipeline(s) and equipment.
  • Review and recommend remediation actions for cathodic protection deficiencies.
  • Ability to track KPI, define gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present at executive level.
  • Strong team player. Works effectively and cooperatively with other departments within the company; including Pipeline Operations, Pipeline Integrity, and Commercial. Actively shares knowledge and skills with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Self-starter and proactive with strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set realistic goals, and complete commitment on schedule.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Reviews / Execute Programs: Interpret background of programs in relation to pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods, repair methods, etc. Advanced understanding of the theory and principles behind ILI inspections, repair plans, cathodic protections surveys and lead efforts to complete. Participates in industry organizations and committees as assigned. Leads delivery of information and influences committee missions and lessons learned for industry improvements. Use a systematic, structured approach to develop short- and long-range plans for accomplishing goals.
  • Oversee Low Flow No Flow process, conduct meetings, track and define remediations. Participate in Facility flow assessments and provide valued input.
  • Conducts Assessments, evaluations, and tracks metrics: Interprets business partner needs, assesses requirements, identifies, and implements solutions. Identifies positive and negative trends in business operation over time to create a compelling case for overall process improvement. Gathers best practice information from external sources to create a compelling case for change/improvement throughout the organization. Develops and uses tools to assess ongoing performance, measure results, and encourage superior achievement. Identifies relevant integrity threats and operating risks for assets and determines preventive and mitigative (P&M) measures, which includes use of High Consequence Area (HCA) analysis, Risk Analysis.
