We are currently seeking a Senior Underwriter who will be responsible for managing the daily service demands of our agents while supporting both individual and team goals. This role requires a thorough understanding of coverage, products, underwriting system transactions, and state-specific lines of business filings. The Senior Underwriter will work independently within a letter of authority issued by the underwriting supervisor, handling assignments of high complexity, hazard grade, and premium. The Senior Underwriter will underwrite and process assigned renewal policies, ensuring adequate pricing of individual risks through proper classification and adherence to company underwriting standards. This includes answering incoming calls from agents, conducting outbound follow-ups, and maintaining open communication with internal and external customers. The role also involves quoting, accepting, declining, modifying, and renewing risks within the assigned territorial guidelines. Additionally, the Senior Underwriter will develop and maintain effective working relationships with agents and other stakeholders, participate in team goal development, and conduct continuous profit and growth analysis by territory and agency. The ideal candidate will also provide training to less experienced underwriters and increase renewal premiums by cross-selling additional coverage, products, or services. A strong knowledge of industry information, products, and competitors is essential for success in this role.
