About The Position

The Senior Instrument Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of various instruments and equipment used in disinfection and de-chlorination processes within the Houston Water service line. This role involves ensuring the proper operation of instrumentation, maintaining records, and performing technical repairs as needed. The position requires physical exertion and may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and substances.

Requirements

• Specialized training in principles and procedures related to instrumentation, typically acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond high school.
• One year of experience in the repair, calibration, and installation of instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs, calibrates, maintains, and repairs disinfection and de-chlorination instruments and equipment.
• Inspects, tests, and evaluates instruments and equipment for proper operation.
• Maintains records of work orders, parts, and equipment requisitions.
• Performs technical repairs and installations as directed.
• May perform non-technical assignments as needed.
