About The Position

The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a part-time Senior Instructor for the ABA, Special Education program. This position involves teaching master's level graduate students who are working towards their board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential. The instructor will design and implement instruction for diverse graduate students, collaborate with program leadership, and provide mentorship to students completing their thesis. The role requires staying current with research and best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Requirements

  • A doctorate in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Must be a board-certified behavior analyst with doctoral designation (BCBA-D) at time of hire.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching master's level courses in behavior analysis and/or supervising fieldwork experiences of students working towards their BCBA.

  • Additional education or certifications.
  • Evidence of success mentoring and chairing thesis committees.
  • Experience conducting independent research and disseminating research via peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences.
  • Evidence of success in obtaining grants and collaborating with other faculty.
  • Experience working with community agencies and other institutions delivering behavior-analytic services.
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Canvas).

Responsibilities

  • Design instruction and teach online courses related to ethics of behavior-analytic practice, research methods in behavior analysis, and concepts and principles of behavior analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and Program Manager to support strategic planning efforts to recruit students and refine program policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to master's students completing their thesis.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and provide community service in the Special Education program and the field of behavior analysis.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in ABA and related fields.
