The Senior Instructional Technology Project Specialist is a pivotal role within the SC Johnson College of Business, responsible for overseeing all installed audiovisual systems that support classrooms, conference rooms, and collaborative facilities. This position encompasses a diverse portfolio of over 100 unique spaces across six buildings in Ithaca, NY, and New York City. The specialist will monitor and analyze technology needs by continuously assessing faculty, staff, and student satisfaction levels. This feedback will guide the evaluation of installed technologies, ensuring they effectively support the College's educational goals. The role requires ongoing research, design, and implementation of new technologies as teaching and collaboration methods evolve, with a focus on maintaining systems that prioritize functionality, reliability, ease of use, and consistency. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Senior Instructional Technology Project Specialist will work closely with internal and external partners, including audio-visual, acoustical, and electrical vendors, as well as other IT staff and facilities personnel. The role has a dual reporting structure, with 80% of responsibilities reporting to the Associate Director of Instructional and Collaborative Technologies and 20% to Cornell Information Technologies, providing tier 2 or 3 support for AV systems across campus. The position also emphasizes fostering a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment, encouraging open communication, collaboration, and respect among all community members. Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and have at least five years of experience in instructional technology or a related area. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of videoconference equipment, control systems, and various audio and video standards, along with strong project management and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service experience and the ability to work under pressure while meeting critical deadlines are essential.
