About The Position

Installation Technician will be required to perform server installations, NIC card swaps, fiber installation, cable tracing, BNC connection terminations as well as dressing cable and wire management. Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to initial server configurations (ILO/Idrac initial setup), install and secure transmission and switching equipment, assist in mounting, leveling and aligning equipment bays and/or cabinets as well as make Cat6 cables when needed. Technician will also be required to remove all decommissioned or malfunctioning servers and/or transmission equipment and prepare for shipment. Lastly, the technician will be responsible for troubleshooting customer lab issues at the request of management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to : Initial server configurations (ILO/Idrc initial setup), install and secure transmission and switching equipment, assist in mounting, leveling and aligning equipment bays and/or cabinets as well as provide CAT5/6 cable connections when needed Responsible for troubleshooting overall customer lab issues at the request of management Must be able to read, understand and follow standard and office drawings, product documentation, and AT&T Technical Requirements documentation Provide Weekly Activity Reports to management for incorporation into monthly deliverables to the customer

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) with a bility create, read and update MS Excel spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to follow direction from Lab Management and Lead Installers with little to no supervision
  • Ability to read schematics (Visio and/or CAD)
  • Must fully understand and be able to install both AC and DC power applications
  • Expert knowledge of HP and Dell servers along with network devices (examples Arista, Juniper and Cisco)
  • 3-5 years experience in equipment, cable and fibering installations
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must reside in the Middletown NJ commuting area.
  • The position is contingent upon candidate’s ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; thereby, in accordance with Federal Requirements, medical requirements include but are not limited to full COVID-19 vaccination status by 4 January 2022, except in limited circumstances where a candidate is legally entitled to an accommodation – proof of vaccination is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to maintain inventory records and understand lab layouts
  • Working knowledge of HP and Dell servers along with network devices (exp: Arista, Cisco, Juniper, etc).
  • Experience in running/terminating AC/DC power connections.
  • Multimode/Singlemode fiber tracing and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read/decipher test bed schematics and fiber/cabling running lists.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Knowledge of UPS and CRACs is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs or more.
