About The Position

We are currently searching for an experienced Senior CEI Inspector to support our West Gulf Region located in Shreveport, LA. This position involves inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications, as well as testing of materials and reviewing plans. The Senior CEI Inspector will keep daily diaries on project operations, resolve daily constructability issues, and troubleshoot problems to mitigate delays to the contractor’s progress. Additionally, the role includes monitoring contractor's daily operations, performing and/or reviewing test reports, documenting pay records, and anticipating contractual problems. The inspector will also mentor and train entry-level inspection staff and lead a staff of inspectors on large-scale or groups of smaller projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive inspection level experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required
  • Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Responsibilities

  • Inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications
  • Testing of materials and review of plans
  • Keeping daily diaries on project operations, resolving daily constructability issues, and troubleshooting problems to mitigate delays to contractor’s progress
  • Monitoring contractor's daily operations and performing and/or reviewing test reports to ensure that all work and materials conform to specifications, plans, and contractual provisions
  • Monitoring utility relocation efforts by inspecting and tracking relocation work
  • Documenting pay records, performing construction calculations, and computer/iPad entry
  • Anticipating contractual problems and advising supervisor of the need for plan revisions, supplemental agreements, or other contract adjustments to improve safety, timely delivery, and/or quality of delivered product
  • Effectively communicating and coordinating work with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners to minimize delays and disturbances while maximizing progress of the projects
  • Mentoring and training entry-level inspection staff
  • Leading a staff of inspectors on large-scale or groups of smaller projects
