This NPI Senior Injection Molding Engineer position will be located in Whitehall Michigan and will support new product introduction projects, improvement initiatives, and assume direct responsibility for integrity of assigned wax and core injection processes.

  • Design and develop new processes for injection molding
  • Oversee tooling trials, mold validations, and process optimization
  • Coordinate injection process modeling simulations with injection flow modeler
  • Interact with the NPI Engineering team, aiding in concurrent engineering efforts with aerospace customers in order to optimize part designs for manufacturability.
  • Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments
  • In collaboration with product engineering and manufacturing, support activities concerned with technical development and part quality/yield issues
  • Define tools and fixtures pertinent to processing, aiding NPI Engineering with quoting and/or process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in tooling, processes, and workflow efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate new tooling and fixtures to achieve process improvements
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on project status, risks, and deliverables
  • Generate material requisitions to initiate procurement and submit capital expenditure proposals to drive short and long term product and manufacturing improvements.
  • Stay updated with advancements in injection molding technology and materials
  • Provide injection support across the Airfoils Segment as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with injection molding process development and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding machines, tooling design, materials and processing parameters.
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing process improvements and optimizing manufacturing operations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Able to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organizational skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution in the following disciplines preferred: Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Plastics Technology.
  • Experience working in a Casting environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific methods for problem solving.
  • Knowledge of CAD (Siemens NX) and simulation tools.
