About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an experienced Senior Information Technology Project Manager to join their team in Hazelwood, MO. This role is responsible for leading Application Rationalization efforts, which aim to streamline the application portfolio, mitigate technical risks, and prepare systems for cloud adoption. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder engagement, and deliver measurable outcomes that align with the Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Optimization strategy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in project management for both small and large projects
  • 10+ years of experience with tracking cost, schedule and/or technical performance
  • 5+ years of experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.) and agile project management tools (JIRA, TFS, VersionOne, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management for application rationalization initiatives, from discovery and assessment through decommissioning, consolidation, or modernization
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers; track progress and report program status to stakeholders and leadership
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, application inventory reviews, and business/technical assessments to capture usage, value, cost, and technical maturity
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, product owners, IT operations, cybersecurity, finance, and business Subject Mater Experts (SMEs) to drive decisions and execute transitions
  • Maintain the application rationalization decision framework and scoring criteria; ensure consistent, data-driven prioritization of candidates for retire/replace/retain/modernize
  • Manage dependencies, change control, and communications across programs to minimize operational impact and ensure aligned timelines
  • Ensure cloud-readiness and compliance requirements are captured for modernization candidates; coordinate with cloud architects and security teams for migration planning
  • Drive governance and stakeholder approvals at program gates; prepare executive briefings and Return on Investment (ROI)/cost avoidance analyses
  • Identify and implement process improvements and lessons learned to accelerate future rationalization cycles
