About The Position

You will manage and administer SharePoint Services, Internet Information Services (IIS), Enterprise Certificate Services, Microsoft 365, and be an active contributor in the team. You'll support request handling and collaborate professionally across the team, with opportunities to contribute to broader group initiatives. The position will provide support for the Office of Information Technology and all customers we support. The position performs a full range of system administration functions to control systems and attain maximum utilization and efficiency within the SharePoint/Web Services team. This position maintains updating infrastructure, administering, and supporting on premise/cloud environments, administering SharePoint and IIS enterprise environments and issuing and maintaining Enterprise Certificates. The position is a key player in the support and maintenance of all users within the States systems as far as access control. The Team within the Office of Information Technology offers professional and technical hosting and enterprise services to agencies. The Team resides within the Computing Infrastructure & Services Group, which supports a wide range of applications utilizing Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Directory Services, Enterprise Backup and Storage, SQL Server, IIS, SharePoint, and other COTS products. Work is performed under supervision. This position is in Augusta. The CIS Group requires 24x7 server support. This requires the position to be on-call in a rotation format.

Requirements

  • Experience with IIS & SharePoint installing, configuring, administering and maintaining
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration, to include current Windows Server versions
  • Experience using a ticket management system for work prioritization and daily workload management
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure and HPE GreenLake integrated with VMware, enabling scalable, cloud-like on-premises environments using vSphere and vSAN
  • Experience with Windows Server Performance Monitor and Network Monitor utilities
  • Experience with Windows Event Viewer and various applications logs and utilities
  • Experience working to resolve problems or in implementing new solutions
  • Manage and troubleshoot licensing issues if they arise
  • Interface with Premier Technical Support to resolve any open support cases involving on premise or Cloud based issues
  • Knowledge of cloud providers, specifically Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere and VMware ESXi virtualization
  • Understanding of common network protocols and virtualization networking
  • Understanding of current industry standards and best practices
  • Understanding of secure server builds and compliance controls
  • Knowledge of complex software applications on PC's, servers, and networks.
  • Knowledge and Experience of DNS, DHCP, SMB, LDAP, TCP/IP protocols
  • Ability to deploy and support ASP.NET/WCF applications
  • Ability to support, administer, and troubleshoot M365 in a corporate environment
  • Ability to develop PowerShell scripts
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to write clearly and effectively
  • A positive and proactive approach in identifying problems, and problem resolution techniques
  • Ability to perform work requiring lifting and/or physical exertion may be required
  • Ability to work in an on-call rotation
  • Must be able to continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge
  • A minimum of 5 years of a combination of related post-secondary education, technical certifications, or technology related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal (OIT) tier-2 support for IIS, SharePoint, M365, Enterprise Certificate Services, Hyperconverged and Windows Server Services support in an enterprise environment
  • Responsible for overseeing, installing, diagnosing, maintaining and administering Microsoft Windows server systems including, IIS, SharePoint, M365, Enterprise Certificate Services and Hyperconverged and storage
  • Respond to help desk escalations
  • Hardware and software upgrades
  • Planning and executing growth and expansion
  • Subject Matter Expert resource to internal programmers and vendors for best practices
  • Responsible for recommending hardware, software purchasing and configuration for enterprise windows hosting server environments
  • Participate in technical meetings
  • Active participant for mentoring others
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation (Standard Operating Procedures) for all job-related activities
  • Provide monitoring and feedback for vendors for troubleshooting code drops and recommend fixes
  • Support application hosting (physical, virtual, enterprise) environments within the group
