BuildOps is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to assess our current security posture, identify and remediate gaps, and establish robust security practices across our organization. This role will work directly with IT leadership to build and maintain security infrastructure, conduct security reviews, and support our compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on information security experience
  • Experience conducting security assessments and implementing controls
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST)
  • Experience with identity management platforms (Okta, Azure AD)
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS platforms and integration security
  • Understanding of cloud security concepts
  • Experience with security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Security certifications (Security+, SSCP, or working toward CISSP)

  • Knowledge of Salesforce security
  • Scripting/automation skills
  • Experience working fast-paced software/technology companies

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security assessments of our infrastructure, applications, and operational practices
  • Identify security gaps and develop remediation plans with clear priorities
  • Implement and maintain security controls across our technical environment
  • Perform security reviews of third-party tools, integrations, and vendor relationships
  • Manage security operations including monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management
  • Support compliance initiatives and audit readiness
  • Develop security policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Coordinate with external security resources (penetration testers, auditors, consultants)
  • Provide security guidance to engineering and operations teams
  • Build security awareness through training and consultation
