About The Position

In this role, you will be a strategic leader shaping the enterprise’s information landscape. You will drive alignment and consistency in business concepts, data definitions, and metadata across the organization, enhancing the overall analytics capabilities and regulatory compliance. The position involves providing visionary leadership in the development of enterprise ontologies and data standards, significantly impacting the organization's data governance practices. By collaborating with key stakeholders, you'll ensure that data is trusted, reusable, and enables effective decision-making across the enterprise. This position requires influencing senior leadership and mentoring the information architecture community for optimal results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in information architecture or data governance.
  • Mastery of enterprise metadata management tools (e.g. Collibra, Alation).
  • Proven experience in governing ontologies and semantic frameworks.
  • Expert understanding of data governance principles and data quality.
  • Ability to translate complex business concepts into structured information models.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and direction for enterprise ontologies and business glossaries.
  • Lead development of canonical data models and domain models.
  • Drive alignment of ontologies with enterprise strategy and operational needs.
  • Serve as the principal authority for metadata and business glossary standards.
  • Oversee enhancement of metadata quality through governance processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to embed business information architecture into strategic products.
  • Champion the adoption of shared business definitions across teams.
  • Establish enterprise standards for ontology modeling and metadata taxonomy.
  • Lead the evolution of data governance frameworks in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in data definitions and business rules.
