About The Position

The Sr. Industrial Hygienist Specialist will play a key role in supporting site-wide environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) programs with a strong emphasis on IH within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will establish the Industrial Hygienist program and will own the implementation of the program as this position is responsible for anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards that may cause injury, illness, or environmental harm. The Sr. Industrial Hygienist Specialist will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Leadership teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while driving continuous improvement in safety culture and performance at INCOG.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HSE roles with a strong background in industrial hygiene.
  • Demonstrated experience with exposure monitoring, sampling equipment, and IH assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards related to occupational safety, health, and environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE data management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical, or food environments.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and assessments (air sampling, noise monitoring, chemical exposure, ventilation, ergonomics, etc.) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform risk assessments, hazard analysis, and root cause investigations to identify and mitigate potential safety and health risks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-wide training programs on HSE and industrial hygiene topics.
  • Maintain accurate records of sampling data, exposure assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to site leadership with actionable recommendations.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions.
  • Support GMP manufacturing operations by assessing health risks associated with production processes, raw materials, and cleaning agents
