A Day in the Life The Senior Industrial Engineering Manager will lead people, processes, and change to drive operational excellence at the Plymouth Nathan Lane Manufacturing site, a key Medtronic campus supporting regulated medical device manufacturing. This role is responsible for developing and leading a high performing industrial engineering team, planning and executing Lean and Six Sigma–based initiatives, and sustaining change through strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder engagement. This leader will partner closely with site leadership and cross functional teams to assess current state performance, identify gaps, and implement data driven improvements that are adopted, sustained, and scaled. Success in this role requires a strong balance of technical process expertise, people leadership, and change management capability to enable continuous improvement and long term business impact. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of managerial experience OR Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of managerial experience

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Medtronic experience, including hands‑on involvement in Lean, Six Sigma, MPS, or MDT continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven success leading and developing teams through change in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and levels, including senior leadership
  • Strong expertise in process mapping, root‑cause analysis, and performance measurement
  • Experience building and using operational metrics and dashboards to drive behavior change
  • Background in delivering training, facilitating workshops, and coaching leaders and teams
  • Proven success leading large‑scale productivity, capacity, or footprint optimization efforts
  • Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI), site expansions, or major transformations

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of industrial engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and engagement
  • Plan, lead, and implement process improvement initiatives aligned to site and enterprise priorities
  • Serve as a change leader, guiding teams through transformation by applying structured change management principles, influencing stakeholders, and addressing resistance
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate cross functional project teams to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Develop and maintain operational metrics and dashboards to monitor performance, track benefits, and reinforce sustained adoption
  • Align improvement initiatives to performance shortfalls and strategic priorities
  • Provide consultation and thought leadership on reengineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to site leadership and key stakeholders
  • Perform cost benefit analyses and ensure value realization from improvement initiatives
  • Deliver training, coaching, and presentations on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and standard work
  • Identify, share, and deploy best practices across the site and broader organization
