About The Position

The Senior Industrial Engineer will provide engineering support to manufacturing processes within the Brazonics team at Collins Aerospace. This role focuses on driving performance improvements through cost control, productivity enhancement, and the implementation of lean manufacturing principles. The position is critical as the organization prepares for a facility relocation and offers an opportunity for career growth in manufacturing engineering.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and 5S.
  • Deploy department resources to eliminate waste in process.
  • Participate in material review board meetings, root cause corrective action, and coordinate solutions for identified discrepancies.
  • Support operational excellence using statistical analysis for process control and certification.
  • Provide focused leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues.
  • Support R&D projects and project task activities, including project plan development, material processing and testing, data collection and analysis, and summarizing information in comprehensive technical reports.
  • Support the manufacturing floor, optimize layouts, improve processes, and create tooling.
  • Identify trends and recommend best practices to improve process capability.
  • Support employee training and development on various lean tools.
  • Serve as point of contact for process-related failures.
