About The Position

Senior Industrial Automation Controls Architect From whiteboard to commissioning, you steer the controls vision. As a senior member of the controls engineering team, you orchestrate complex industrial automation projects—translating requirements into robust architectures, validating performance under real conditions, and guiding teams to flawless start-up. A day in this role Morning begins with aligning stakeholders—customers, operations, and project teams—on clear specifications. Midday, you shape the control system architecture and mentor junior engineers through design reviews and code walkthroughs. Later in the week, you’re on the floor or at a customer site, overseeing installation, start-up, and commissioning. You close out milestones with rigorous testing and validation to ensure reliability and performance. Along the way, you survey emerging technologies to keep our solutions state-of-the-art.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing control systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in multiple PLC languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
  • Deep knowledge of control theory and advanced control algorithms.
  • Proven success leading complex projects from concept through completion.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Master-level skill with schematic/design tools such as EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, and AutoCAD.
  • PLC troubleshooting and PLC programming experience
  • Reading/creating electrical schematics; strong electrical/electronic systems knowledge
  • General troubleshooting skills and industrial automation equipment diagnostics
  • Hands-on work with 120/208/240/480 V systems and other high-voltage environments
  • CNC machine installation and industrial electrical installation
  • Industrial robot programming and SCADA experience
  • CAD software proficiency (including AutoCAD)
  • Broad industrial electrical experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design and development of advanced control systems for industrial applications.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional project teams.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define requirements and detailed specifications.
  • Develop control architectures and design solutions aligned to project objectives and standards.
  • Plan and execute thorough testing and validation to confirm performance and reliability.
  • Oversee installation, start-up, and commissioning activities on site.
  • Stay current with new technologies and trends in control system engineering.
