Overview Graham Packaging is looking for a Senior Income Tax Manager to join their team! This is an ideal position for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering strategic value in a collaborative and supportive environment. The Senior Income Tax Manager will work directly with other tax team members on the core functions of the department; tax accounting, compliance and planning. In addition, the individual will provide the organization with the tools, training, and expertise necessary to comply and respond to the various rules and regulations across multiple taxing jurisdictions. The Senior Income Tax Manager will report to the Senior Director of Tax.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • 10+ years of tax experience in either a large public accounting or a large corporate tax department
  • Demonstrated strong ASC 740 and tax compliance skills and experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated strong management and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment
  • Demonstrated strong decision-making skills
  • Promotes teamwork and is an example to others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in corporate tax software solutions (OneSource Income Tax, BNA fixed assets, etc.) and tax research products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong excel skills needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability and desire to lead, supervise, and mentor people and processes
  • Ability to act as a champion of diversity, creating an environment that values different backgrounds and perspectives

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in the use of SAP and HFM a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of the global quarterly and annual tax reporting to ensure compliance with ASC 740
  • Support the financial close processes related to income tax, including journal entries, flux analysis and management reporting
  • Review and oversight of global income tax accounts and the effective tax rate
  • Preparation and review of federal valuation allowance analysis
  • Provide leadership on federal tax planning projects including analysis, documentation, and presentation of conclusions
  • Lead the federal tax compliance process including management of outside consultants and review of the federal tax return
  • Review and oversight of global estimates and cash tax payments and forecasts
  • Assist with tax data requests and analysis relating to federal tax matters
  • Manage and ensure internal control compliance to assess, manage and mitigate risk
  • Lead identification and tracking of global uncertain tax positions
  • Lead U.S. international tax compliance for U.S. tax reporting, including oversight of the process and review of international forms and calculations such as GILTI, BEAT, Forms 1118, 5471 and 8858, etc.
  • Management of FATCA compliance
  • Assistance with Pillar 2 calculations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (accounting, finance, legal, etc.) on tax implications of business transactions
  • Identify and implement tax process improvement initiatives within the tax department
  • Lead identification, analysis and compliance with global income tax law changes
  • Participate in global tax research and preparation of tax memorandums
  • Manage federal tax audits and notices
  • Lead and manage relationships and work closely with external service providers, external auditors and consultants
