Position Summary: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Immigration Case Manager to join our Employment-Based Automotive team and step into a key client-facing role backfilling a Senior Case Manager who is transitioning internally. In this role, you’ll partner with Attorneys and fellow Case Managers to manage the full lifecycle of primarily H-1B and L-1A/L-1B matters, with additional exposure to E-2 and TN cases, for global corporate clients in the automotive space. This position is ideal for someone who can confidently run L-1, H-1B and TN cases end-to-end and ramp up quickly with high autonomy. This position can be fully remote from any U.S. location, or based in either our Troy, MI or Ann Arbor, MI office as an in-person or hybrid role. Please note - although this role can be remote, all work must be performed within the United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 4+ years of employment-based immigration experience as a Case Manager or Paralegal, preparing L‑1A/L‑1B and H‑1B visa types, including key forms, labor condition applications, and DS‑160s for consular processing.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a busy caseload, prioritize competing deadlines, and consistently meet strict legal timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience serving as a primary client contact, providing proactive, client‑focused support.
  • High attention to detail and organization, including maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date records in a case management system.
  • Collaborative, professional approach to working with Attorneys and other Case Managers, with a willingness to help improve processes and SOPs.
  • Genuine commitment to immigration and global mobility, along with strong cultural competence and alignment with values of kindness, empathy, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day‑to‑day progression of a high volume of employment‑based immigration cases (primarily L‑1A/L‑1B and H‑1B), from intake through filing and post‑filing.
  • Conduct preliminary review of intake information and documents to confirm case strategy and flag issues for Attorney input.
  • Draft key immigration forms and applications (including DS‑160s, LCAs, and related H‑1B filings) and supporting letters for Attorney review.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact, coordinating directly with clients and their employees on case logistics, required documents, and timelines.
  • Track case statuses and critical deadlines across your portfolio and keep Attorneys and clients updated on progress, risks, and upcoming filings.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date client and case information in Ellis Porter’s case management system and uphold high standards of data integrity.
  • Stay current on filing requirements and procedural changes for USCIS and U.S. Consular submissions.
  • Help develop and refine team SOPs and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
