Senior I&C Training Instructor (Waltz Mill)

About the role: If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for an I&C Training Instructor. You will work in an international team with people from the US and across Europe. You will report to the Operations & Technical Training Manager and work hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2 days/week at our Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility located in Madison PA.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering OR
- A High School Diploma/GED holder AND Successful completion of United Stated Navy nuclear field pipeline training program OR
- A teaching certification in a science, math, or technical field
- Will accept three years of related experience as meeting the Bachelor's degree requirement.
- 3+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Navy Nuclear Operator OR
- Commercial Reactor Operations OR
- Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Engineer OR
- Instrumentation and Control Technician OR
- Commercial or civilian nuclear experience OR
- Teaching in a science, math, or technical field
- Working knowledge of operating procedures, procedure background documents, Piping and Instrumentation Drawings, functional logic diagrams, and other Technical Documents.
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills and strong presentation/facilitation skills
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time to remote locations.
- Ability to work occasional long hours, rotating shifts, and weekends.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain unescorted access at a Nuclear Power Plant.
Responsibilities
- Attain an instructor qualification on specific I&C related systems to fulfil the training needs of current and future customers across many nuclear power plants in the US and abroad.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and equipment while on assignment at various nuclear power plants across the world.
- Preparation of equipment, schedule, travel plans, and training material to conduct the training at various utility sites on your own.
- Improve your knowledge and qualification in the I&C field.
- Knowledge transfer to junior instructors and customers.
