About The Position

As a Principal I&C Software Engineer at Westinghouse, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing innovative software solutions for Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in the nuclear or energy sector.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with safety-critical software development standards (e.g., DO-178C, IEC 61508).

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Knowledge of nuclear instrumentation and control systems.
• Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for I&C systems in compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with physical systems.
• Conduct software testing and validation to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
