About The Position

Under general direction of the Manager of the Project Development Section, the incumbent is responsible for leading assignments which are complex and difficult, requiring unique technical knowledge and skills related to the operations and maintenance, installation, construction, and design analysis of major electrical and electromechanical systems for large generators and power distribution systems. Work may involve contract administration, construction inspection, and project management for work on the new and existing generation resources and coordinating with other State and local agencies and utilities. In addition, lead the development of policies and standards for operations and maintenance consistent with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendation and site procedures. Support future site comprehensive assessments for practicality and feasibility for additional generation capability and provide long-term support to the Power Markets and Settlements Section for liquidated damages, settlement's review, compliance support, and reporting.

  • Experience in power-related contract negotiations, development, installation, and commissioning
  • Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or control system design integration, including drawing reviews
  • Knowledge and experience in inspections related to commissioning/startups, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Experience with the Bulk Electric System, familiarity with CAISO and/or other Balancing Authority areas, and knowledge of regulatory and industry standards
  • Knowledge of renewable and emerging energy technologies
  • Experience in presenting, clear communication, and writing technical reports
