About The Position

This position is responsible for the hydrologic and hydraulic analysis required for the design of large and complex drainage systems involving bridges, culverts, detention basins, pumping stations, and storm sewer systems.

Requirements

• Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois.
• Four years of experience in civil engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in highway engineering.
• Skill in the design of highways, streets, and structures and in making complete engineering plans and specifications.
• Ability to resolve complex hydrologic and hydraulic problems or discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares hydraulic reports for major and extremely complex structures.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and approves hydraulic reports prepared by consultants and district personnel.
• Performs field investigations and recommends corrective action for hydraulic problems.
• Performs hydrologic and hydraulic investigations.
• Develops, maintains, and implements the computer-aided hydraulic design systems.
• Trains district personnel in proper hydraulic analysis and computer applications.
• Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
• Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
