About The Position

The Senior Human Resources Manager - Plant at International's manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama, plays a crucial role in both strategic and tactical HR functions. This position involves partnering with plant leadership to enhance HR practices, oversee traditional HR functions, and engage with local communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of HR professionals, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and developing a strategic vision for the HR function within the plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of human resources or labor experience and 4 years of management experience, OR
  • Master's degree with at least 8 years of human resources or labor experience and 4 years of management experience, OR
  • At least 12 years of human resources or labor experience with 4 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with management and employees to communicate HR objectives and procedures in compliance with company policy and employment law.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state employment laws.
  • Manage a team of HR professionals to support management with employee relations issues and inquiries.
  • Provide consultation and coaching on employee relations issues, including performance reviews and progressive discipline.
  • Administer FMLA leave and ADA compliance for client groups.
  • Manage the staffing process to meet the facility's manpower needs.
  • Develop effective recruiting strategies in partnership with internal Hiring Managers.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Compensation to manage compensation needs and ensure competitive retention.
  • Support benefit-related questions and issues in conjunction with corporate functions.
  • Coordinate with the training department to facilitate training and development for team members.
  • Engage with local government and education sectors to foster community involvement.
  • Direct the planning and administration of various HR functions, advising plant management on personnel policies.
