About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to provide strategic and hands-on HR support across employee relations, compliance, investigations, recruitment, policy implementation, and performance management. This role partners closely with leadership and employees in complex operational environments and requires an HR professional who can work effectively in detention and/or healthcare sectors while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, judgment, and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience with strong generalist responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, investigations, compliance, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.
  • Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.
  • Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).
  • Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.
  • Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances.
  • Must be able to work onsite and outside of a traditional office environment, including field locations and secure operational settings.
  • Must be comfortable working in secure, highly regulated, and fast-paced environments.
  • Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
  • Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.
  • Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
  • Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
  • Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or aging patients or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
  • Must be able to see, hear and smell with aids if necessary.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.
  • Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the detention and/or healthcare sectors strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR functions in a regulated or high-compliance environment preferred.
  • HR certification such as aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HR partner to managers and employees on employee relations, policy interpretation, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations and document findings and recommendations.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding efforts for assigned program.
  • Provide guidance on corrective action, leave administration, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws, regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Maintain and audit personnel records, HR systems, and compliance files.
  • Assist with policy development, communication, and implementation.
  • Analyze HR data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Support audits, grievance responses, unemployment matters, and other employment-related activities.
  • Travel to field sites, healthcare facilities, or secure detention environments as needed.
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
