About The Position

The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning talent strategy with business objectives across various complex lines of business. This role serves as a consultant to management on HR-related matters and acts as a mentor/coach to other HRBPs. The Senior HRBP is a cultural change agent who assesses and anticipates organizational talent needs, developing integrated talent solutions in partnership with HR Centers of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, Psychology or related field.
  • 6+ years of human resources experience with emphasis in Talent Development, Talent Review, and Workforce Planning.
  • 4 years of strategic human resources business partner experience with regular interactions with senior and/or executive leaders.
  • SHRM certification preferred (PHR or SPHR).
  • In-depth knowledge of general human resource practices.
  • Strong track record of business partnership within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to coach and influence management at all levels.
  • Exceptional partnership skills with HR and business lines.
  • Solid presentation, conflict resolution, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to be a change agent in a high performing culture.
  • Ability to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion within programs.
  • Strong customer service, influence, investigation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment and sensitivity to changing needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with teammates and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state human resources regulations.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Possess strong initiative, follow-up, feedback, and timely decision-making skills.
  • Ability to champion HR programs despite resistance.
  • Strong MS Office and HRIS skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Advanced HR certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience with HRIS implementation or upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Atlantic Union leaders to assess organizational structure and implement programs to support a high performing culture.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to line of business leadership; initiate and manage senior level talent decisions with leaders.
  • Identify capabilities needed to meet current and emerging business needs for designated lines of business.
  • Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and partner with leaders and Talent Acquisition on build or buy plans.
  • Lead the implementation of talent development programs within designated lines of business.
  • Play a key role in implementing new initiatives related to total rewards, teammate engagement, and leadership development.
  • Lead change management strategies and mentor other HRBPs.
  • Educate leaders on best practices in change management.
  • Coach, train, and foster leadership capability.
  • Support management in assessing the bank's values-based culture through teammate survey results analysis.
  • Manage and resolve complex teammate relations concerns, including conducting investigations.
  • Consult with managers regarding the interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Represent Atlantic Union with third party entities on teammate related decisions.
  • Document critical HR policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide business insight through data analysis, research, and benchmarking.
  • Lead enterprise-wide projects to deliver HR expertise.
