About The Position

The role serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Responsibilities include leading and supporting employee relations investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions. The position also entails conducting full-cycle recruitment efforts for key roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding. Additionally, the role supports performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. The HR professional will gather and consolidate HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and improve HR processes, assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programs (e.g., wellness, engagement), maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data, and handle payroll administration. The role fosters a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the HR team and requires regular engagement with employees in the mill environment. Other duties and projects may be assigned to meet CFP's Mission and Purpose.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of HR or related experience with at least 2 years in a senior or specialist role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
