As a Senior Human Factors Engineer, you will work closely with marketing, engineers, and clinical teams to ensure a user-centric approach is used in defining and developing products. You will also collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to create the usability documentation required for regulatory submissions. This role may be assigned to any of the different products within the endoscopy operating unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field with 4+ years of experience; MS or higher with 3+ years of experience in medical device development.
  • Strong understanding of usability standards (IEC 62366, ANSI HE75, FDA Human Factors Guidance).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with devices involving both software and hardware preferred.
  • Experience working through all phases of new product development cycle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent human factors on a project core team on more than one project at a time.
  • Plan and conduct task analysis and user research studies for new product/system/sub-system concepts.
  • Compile, organize and synthesize results of field observations, surveys, and usability test results into internal communications and presentations for product teams and leadership.
  • Contribute to workflow and user interface designs.
  • Write usability engineering documents such as task analysis, usability risk analysis, usability requirements, study protocol, and test reports in a timely manner.
  • Analyze data to identify root causes of observed use errors.
  • Design, execute and report on usability evaluations and tests at various stages of product development from concept exploration to formal validation testing required by US/OUS regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and support usability assessment documentation for US/OUS regulatory submissions.
  • Manage usability engineering activities within projects and provide schedules and status updates to project team.
