Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, AND:
  • 36 months of professional HR experience in Employee Relations or related field.
  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions and communicate effectively.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods; ability to communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others; ability to use computer daily. Sit for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

  • 60+ months of progressive HR work experience
  • Previous OU experience, particularly in Human Resources
  • Previous experience directly related to positive discipline (i.e., performance management), coaching, and mentoring
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Cornerstone

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a trusted advisor, strategic partner, and subject matter expert at the University in the areas of employee relations, performance management, positive discipline issues, and workplace disputes.
  • Provides confidential support to management and staff, working closely with Legal Counsel and key stakeholders in guiding appropriate courses of action and identifying and mitigating potential risk.
  • Performs HR outreach visits to departments for on-site problem-solving.
  • Provides internal customer service to HR staff for policy guidance and overlapping situations.
