About The Position

In this role, you will lead the design and development of Ralph Lauren Polo and Purple Label men’s hosiery, reporting to the Senior Design Manager and shaping the global product point of view for the category. You will collaborate closely with Renfro and Ralph Lauren’s design, merchandising, and cross-functional teams to translate trend research, market insights, and brand direction into innovative, high-quality, and commercially successful collections. From concept through final sample approval, you will own the full design process—creating CADs, developing tech packs, preparing production-ready artwork, and managing factory communication—while applying strong technical knitwear expertise and a refined sense of color and pattern. Your work will help ensure that men’s hosiery remains a distinctive, foundational part of the Ralph Lauren brand and customer offering. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of relevant industry experience in hosiery, apparel, or accessories.
  • Experience with American Heritage brands and a portfolio that reflects.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to validate design concepts to internal sales teams and brand management leadership.
  • Develop compelling assortments that integrate cohesively with the broader men's product line and respond to brand priorities, customer needs, and market trends.
  • Ability to visualize and develop a collection from CAD/graph to final product, with advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Expertise in color, print, and pattern design with a strong aesthetic sense for composition and color matching.
  • Drive innovation in knit construction techniques, yarn development, gauge engineering, and finishing processes to elevate product quality and differentiate the category.
  • Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color and understand how to translate trends through the lens of the Ralph Lauren brand filter
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, accountability, and the ability to work independently.
  • Collaborative, energetic, motivating, and willing to contribute to a team dynamic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of knitwear and hosiery construction and machinery is a plus.
  • Experience with PLM/WebPDM systems; knowledge of Pointcarre, 3D and AI image rendering is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analyze seasonal trends, knit stitches, patterns, and colors to inspire hosiery concepts and ensure both trend-right and brand-right product direction.
  • Translate seasonal concepts into segment-specific product lines that align with Ralph Lauren brand identity.
  • Create and maintain CADs, tech packs, production art assets (knit graphs, printed art mechanicals, and placement diagrams), PLM assets, and presentation decks.
  • Execute color development, including lab dips, palette creation, and library management.
  • Support the product development lifecycle from concept through final sample approval, ensuring adherence to the merchandising planning calendar and deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes within design and development workflows.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the design team and departmental goals.
