About The Position

ICF is looking for an enthusiastic HL7 FHIR Architect & Evangelist to join our team and help us design and implement the next generation of integrated systems. If you are an Architect interested in applying your expertise in HL7 FHIR in a consulting environment, then this may be the role for you. Job Location: This position requires that the job be performed in the United States. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and also prohibits personal VPN connections. You may be asked to travel once a quarter to an office. Our core work hours are 10am - 4pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 or more years hands-on experience HL7
  • 8 or more years experience in software architecture and implementation
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
  • Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.
  • Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • 3+ years experience working with tools like JIRA, GitHub, and Confluence.
  • 3+ years experience with working on cloud platforms in AWS.
  • 3+ years strong understanding of relational database concepts
  • 3+ years strong understanding of UML modeling
  • Ability to self-organize, priorities and conduct research on multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in consulting or healthcare is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Define interoperability standards between enterprise systems, including the federal government, healthcare providers, data exchange organizations, and others.
  • Design modern, scalable data exchange technical architectures for implementation
  • Perform analyses of alternatives for technology choices to implement scalable data exchange systems based on HL7 FHIR
  • Perform hands-on code implementation of HL7 FHIR systems using modern programming languages like Java and Node
  • Oversee the development of HL7 FHIR projects across the organization, ensuring that best practices and standards are being utilized
  • Demo work in both small and large virtual settings with clients and end users to obtain feedback on standards and integrations to meet business requirements.
  • Work within a SAFe scaled agile framework, collaborating with other software engineers, data engineers, quality engineers, business analyst and product owner to ensure solutions meet client needs with the highest quality.
  • In addition to advanced functional expertise, this role includes formal supervisory responsibility for staff , with accountability for setting goals, evaluating performance, managing workload, and developing talent. The role requires ongoing leadership of people and teams rather than sole individual contribution.
