About The Position

AECOM's Transportation business line has a position available in Piscataway or Bloomfield, NJ for a Senior Civil Engineer with Highway Design experience. This candidate must be very familiar with NJTA and NJDOT design standards and will be responsible to lead a design team in the preparation of construction documents for transportation projects. Design work will include Conceptual Design, Preliminary Design, and Final Design. This is a hybrid-role requiring in-office presence 3 days/week. The individual in this role will be entrusted with critical responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus eight years of related experience an/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• NJDOT Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Nice To Haves

• 10 years of relevant highway, interchange, and roadway design experience
• Must demonstrate knowledge of NJTA and NJDOT Design Standards and Procedures, including perparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate Submission for agencies.
• Proficient in MicroStation V8i software, Bentley OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D

Responsibilities

• Produce roadway/transportation-related designs required for new or rehabilitation roadway projects
• Attend client project meetings, participate in proposals/presentations, manage project tasks, manage projects, and meet with regulatory agencies
• Project Engineering responsibilities related to project communication, schedule, budget and progress on various concurrent tasks
• Assist in local marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and participation in professional societies.
