Dewberry is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Boston office. Qualified candidates should be familiar with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bluebeam, AASHTO, MUTCD as well as with agencies and agency standards such as MassDOT, MBTA, Massport and local municipalities. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in transportation engineering field with a focus on highway/roadway design.
  • PE registration in Massachusetts is required or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience with complete streets and active transportation projects.
  • Experience with MassDOT, MBTA and Massport design policies and procedures is required.
  • Local Experience with municipalities is highly preferred.
  • A member of and/or actively participates in local professional practice organizations.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
  • May provide support for transportation projects in other offices Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary contact between local municipal and state clients.
  • Lead and/or conduct engineering tasks focused on highway/roadway design for the Boston office.
  • Coordinate with other departments and offices on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Coordinate and assist Dewberry’s Northeast Regional practice with highway/roadway related projects.
  • Engage in business development activities related to project pursuits and preparing statements of qualifications and proposals.
  • Experience mentoring younger staff.
